Our Family!

Leon,

       I love our family! I love you Leon, and your Daddy, and the little baby growing in my belly. I love that we get to make fun memories together as a family. Sign Language

Signing "I Love You"

Leon,

       Since you were a little infant Daddy and I have been trying to teach you sign language, as a way to better communicate as you learn to talk. You have learned how to sign more, please, thank you, sorry, eat, milk, smart, help, pain, poop (Daddy taught you that one) and I love you. It amazes me how quickly you pick up on things. You are a smart little man and I am proud of everything you accomplish. I love you Leon!

My Little Big Boy

Premie Diaper - Size 5

Leon,

       When we brought you home from the hospital you were so tiny we had to buy premie diapers. I remember thinking how small and fragile you were and wondering how long it would take for you to grow and get bigger. Before I knew it you were growing and changing, no longer my itty bitty baby. Now you are my little big boy, still growing and changing every day. I will cherish every moment and every day I have with you. I love you Leon, my little big boy!

The Messes You Make

Peanut Butter Handprints

Leon,
       Everyday you make messes for Mommy to clean up, somedays more so than others. Today you decided to leave peanut butter hand prints on the bathroom door before taking your bath. The funny thing is that I didn't even notice until hours later. You love helping clean up messes too and I hope you continue to be so enthusiastic about it, but I am told kids grow out of it. Messes and all, I love being your Mommy! I love you, my silly/messy/funny/sweet little boy!

Merry Christmas!

Your First Trike!

Leon,

       Our family is so wonderfully blessed. Today is Christmas and a busy day it was. You are now tucked in bed fast asleep after a full day of fun and play with family. Our day began at home where you opened your gift from Mommy and Daddy. After tearing through the wrapping paper you saw your new Go Diego Go tricycle and smiled. Excitedly you got on, with a little help, and started zooming up and down the hall!

Christmas at Nana and Papa's!

 

       Late morning we went to Nana and Papa's house where we were spoiled with a yummy breakfast and opened up some more presents! You got a lot of fun big boy toddler toys, so now we can put all your baby toys away until the baby comes in July. You saw the manger Nana has under her tree and we told you it was baby Jesus. I told you to give baby Jesus a hug, so you bent down and hugged him then gave him a big kiss! It was so sweet and precious to see! We love you so much Leon!

       After a short nap we drove to Grandma and Grandpa's house for Christmas dinner. You had a lot of fun visiting with Grandma and Grandpa, Grami and Papi (your great grandparents), uncle Chris and Aunt Ashley. You always love having people to show off to! You opened some more presents, which included the movie Cars and a Cars beanbag chair!

       After lots of food, treats, gift giving, play and family visiting you, Daddy and I headed home. The day was long, but so very blessed and filled with wonderful family that I love with all my heart! We are blessed, blessed beyond measure. Merry Christmas. Happy birthday Jesus. I love our family! Christmas Eve & Leon's Hair Cut

Big Boy Hair Cut!

Leon,

       We got up early this morning to get ready for your first big boy haircut. This picture posted above is decieving, as it is the only one of you smiling during your haircut. You were very scared and did not like your hair being cut at all. After two lollipops and lots of crying your haircut was finished, and you look so handsome! You were so brave and did very good today.

       Tonight it is Christmas Eve. We had a wonderful and beautiful candle light service at church and now we are home and you are sleeping peacefully. I am so excited to see you open your present in the morning. Wrapped and sitting under our Christmas tree is a "Go Diego Go" Tricycle that I know you will love! Tomorrow will be filled with family and lots of love, my favorite day of the year. I love you Leon!

Trains!

Choo-Choo!

Leon,

       Your new obsession as of late are trains! You love "choo-choo's" and anything about them. Lately you have loved watching Thomas The Train cartoons and playing with your toy train that sings the "abc's." I love to see your interests expanding as you learn and discover new things. Hearing you say "Choo-choo!" excitedly when you see or hear a train is so cute! I love you Leon!

Making Mommy Laugh

Baby in a bucket...

Leon,

       There is never a day that you don't make me laugh or smile. You love to do funny things and be silly just to make Mommy laugh. Today during your bath I gave you a new bucket for all of your bath toys. Of course the first thing that came to your mind was "A big bucket, I should put it on my head!" You placed the bucket on your head and sat quietly, waiting for me to say something. Each time I would say "Where did Leon go?" and you would peek out from underneath the bucket and giggle with a big smile. I love that you love to make me laugh and smile. You are such a sweet and silly little boy. I love you with all my heart Leon!

Polar Express

Ready To Go!

       With Christmas just around the corner there are many fun things to do! Tonight we went to our church and watched Polar Express. We all wore our pajamas, ate popcorn, hot cocoa, and lots of sugary treats while we watched the movie. You had a great time running around with other kids while watching the movie. After the movie you got to get your picture taken with Santa! You were a little unsure about sitting on his lap, but you loved the jingle bell he gave you as a gift. We all had a fun night, but now we are home, already in our pjs and ready for sleep. Sweet dreams Leon! I love you!

Good Boy, Eating Veggies!

Mommy decided to have a healthy snack of carrots, snap peas, and broccoli. I filled a bowl, topped it with a little ranch dressing and sat down to eat. My phone rang so I set the bowl down and went to answer my phone. Coming back into the living room, this is what I find. You had taken my bowl of veggies and were happily snacking away! I was so shocked, and proud of you for eating vegetables willingly! I guess the key was the ranch dressing that you love, because you finished off the whole bowl! Good job! I love you my healthy boy!

White Elephant

PARTY!

Leon,

       Tonight you and I went with Daddy to help out at our church's youth group. We had our Christmas white elephant party! You had a blast running around the big gym, eating chips and playing with the kids. After kids started opening gifts there were bows and wrapping paper all over the floor, so you began picking up each piece and putting them one by one into the garbage can. It was adorable to see you helping with clean up. You had so much fun, and it was a great night, but now you are exhausted and still fighting bedtime. It is time to lay down and read a book with Mommy and Daddy, so we can all go to sleep here soon. Goodnight Sweetpea, I love you Leon!

Big Boy Leon

        This evening you were very proud of yourself as you mastered drinking from a big cup! You have figured out how to drink from a cup without spilling it all over your shirt. Daddy and I were so proud of you, and again so amazed at how fast you are learning new things and becoming more and more independent. I love you Leon!

Family Fun

       There is nothing better than playing together as a family. Tonight Daddy and I were tickling you, spinning in circles, laughing and playing. Counting!

Bath Time Learning

Leon,

       This evening during your bubble bath you suprised me with how smart you are. You began by lining up your toys and all the shampoo bottles. You do this all the time so I thought nothing of it. Then you stood up and pointed at the first bottle, then the second and so on, all while counting "1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2..." Shocked I realized you now understand the concept of counting objects! I felt so proud of you and amazed at how smart you are becoming. I love teaching you new things and watching you learn! I love you and I am so proud of you Leon!

A Great Day

Dancing like no one is watching.

Leon,

       What a great day! We slept in late today as a family, which was really nice. Then you spent the afternoon at Nana and Papa's house while Daddy and I went on a date. It is good for mommies and daddies to go out on dates every once in a while. You had a lot of fun playing with Nana and Papa. I could tell, because when we came back Papa had fallen asleep on the couch, toys were everywhere and you and Nana were laying on your favorite soft rug reading a book.

 

       After a long nap at home we got you all dressed up and went to your Uncle Abe's suprise birthday party. When we got their and you saw the dance floor and heard the music you had to dance! You danced like no one was watching, although everyone was watching. After some good food and a slice of cake we said goodbye and headed home. After a long and fun day it feels great to relax at home. Sweet dreams Leon! Mommy and Daddy love you!

Outside Play

Leon,
       Today your Daddy and I took you to the park to play. It was a cold, almost freezing day, so we bundled you up in warm clothes and went for a walk. You had so much fun sliding down the slide and swinging on the big swing set! After a while Mommy started to get really cold, so we put you back in your stroller and walked home where it is nice and warm. You didn't want to leave because you were having so much fun! It is fun to play outside and see you run, laugh and play, but it is so nice to come back into a warm home. We are blessed beyond imagining. I love you Leon!

My Little Snuggle Bug

Leon,
       You are a snuggler, you have always been that way. You also love to take over Mommy and Daddy's bed. I love how you lay your head on my shoulder saying "Mama, night night." I cherish those sweet moments. I heard this song tonight and the lyrics are so true.

My Baby Forever

The Day You Were Born

Leon,

       My baby, who has become a toddler and is getting bigger and more independent each day, you will always be my baby. From the moment I first held you I knew I would love you forever. I still remember you being a tiny newborn in my arms, and it feels like just yesterday Daddy and I brought you home. Now you are a walking, talking and very opinionated toddler learning new things every day. I am so blessed and so proud to call you my son. No matter how old you get, you will always be my baby. I love you Leon!

p.s. I also have to add the super cute thing you did this evening that made me smile. Tonight we went to our Christmas Choir Party at church. We ate yummy treats and watched the video of our Christmas Choir performance. When the song that I sang came on you got excited and pointed at the screen saying "Mama!" and clapping! Then when Nana's song came on you got excited again and pointed and kept repeating "Nana! Nana!" I think that made both mine and Nana's night. You are such a sweet little boy. :)

       You are an adorable little boy and you know it! Whenever you want attention you come up to me with this cute little pouty face saying "Mama? Family Christmas Tree Decorating

Admiring The Christmas Tree

Leon,

       Tonight we took the evening to decorate our Christmas tree as a family. We watched classic Christmas cartoons and listened to Christmas music. You liked trying to take the ornaments off more than putting them on. We finished decorating and turned off the lights. Staring up at the tree you said "Wow!" in awe of all the lights and pretty things. This Christmas will be lots of fun, everything being so new and exciting for you. A Long Weekend

Christmas Musical

Leon,

       The last three days were long and busy, but a wonderfuly weekend. We performed our Christmas Musical at church the last three nights in a row, and it was wonderful! We sang beautiful music praising the Lord for giving us Jesus on Christmas day, which is the true meaning of Christmas. You had so much fun playing in the nursery with all your little friends, that you didn't want to leave tonight! I am so proud of you for this step of independence! It may be a few weeks early, but Merry Christmas my sweet boy! I love you Leon!

Wearing Daddy's Hat

Leon,

       Today while playing in the living room you came across Daddy's hat. You picked it up and said "Dada" and patted the top of your head. You wanted to wear Daddy's hat, so I put it on your head and you smiled. You proudly wore that hat for the rest of the afternoon, every once and awhile patting your head saying "Dada" with a smile on your face. I love to see how much you love your Daddy, it makes me smile. I love you, my little man!

Happy Boy At Lunch Time

Leon,

       You love to eat, you always have. Today at lunch you ate a bowl of minestrone soup, a mandarin orange and a cup of milk. You still seemed hungry and wanted more, so you began eating Mommy's chips and salsa! You were very insistant on dipping each bite of chip in the salsa. I was suprised you liked it, since it was a spicy salsa. I am glad you are an adventerous eater and like to try knew things. I knew you were loving the chips and salsa, because with each bite you would say "Mmmmmm, yum!" I love you, my silly boy!

Watching Cartoons at Snack Time

Leon,

       Early this evening while I was getting dinner ready you wanted a snack. I sat you down at the table with some cheerios and milk and put on some cartoons for you to watch. I wanted to show you some of my favorite cartoons I grew up watching, so we watched the Chip and Dale Christmas Tree Cartoon, a Christmas classic. You loved it and wanted to watch it three times! I love all the old Mickey Mouse cartoons, and I love watching them with you. It brings back memories and reminds me of being a kid. The innocence of a child on Christmas, full of wonder and excitment. The simple joy of laying under the Christmas tree, imagining Chip and Dale running around the branches and playing with the ornaments. Now it is your childhood and I am so blessed to be your Mommy. I hope to make your childhood full of happy memories that you will look back on and cherish someday. I love you Leon!

Visiting Family

       We spent today out of town visiting your Great Grandma and Great Grandpa, (your Grami and Papi). Tomorrow is Grami's birthday so we drove up with my Mom to visit. My Big Boy

Reading Time

       Every night before bed Daddy and I read you a book. Lately I have been reading you the book "The Berenstain Bears, New Baby." I am hoping to teach you in the coming months that we will be having a new baby and that you will be a big brother. Having a little baby in the house will be a big change, but I know you will be a wonderful big brother. In Febuary we will find out if you are going to have a baby brother or sister, and in July the baby will arrive. I am so excited to see our little family growing! You are growing up to be an amazing little boy and I am so proud to be your Mommy. I love you Leon!

Check Up

Waiting Patiently

Leon,

       Today we took you to your doctor's appointment at the ear specialist to see how your ears were doing since you got your tubes put in. We got to the doctor's office early and they were closed for lunch. You were tired of being in the car so we played outside and patiently waited for the office to open. After waiting 30 minutes we went inside for your checkup, which took less than 5 minutes. You got the all clear that your ears looked good, and your hearing is great! Hopefully this means no more ear infections! You are such a good boy, and you did a great job today. I am proud of you and I love you Leon!

Christmas Tree Fun

Creative Decorating

Leon,

       With a small burst of energy Mommy decided to get the Christmas tree out of the box and set it up in the living room. You thought it was really cool! We are going to decorate it later with Daddy. I was in the other room cleaning when I noticed it got quiet, too quiet. I knew you were up to something, so I came out to the living room to find you standing by the tree. It took me a moment to notice, but then I saw it! You had decorated the entire bottom section of the tree with little toys from your room! Stuck inbetween branches are your blocks, little animals, and even a sock! You seemed very proud of what you did so I left them all there. You decorated the tree for the first time, and in a very creative way. I love you Leon, my silly boy!

A Love For Music

Dance Leon, Dance!

Leon,

       From the time you were just a tiny baby growing in my tummy you have been surounded by music, and you love it! If there is music playing you have to dance. You especially love it when Daddy plays his guitar. I love to watch you dance, sing and play.

 

       Today we got out some Christmas decorations and started to decorate. We set up your very own Christmas tree in your bedroom with pretty white lights. After plugging it in and turning off the lights you stood looking up at the tree saying "Wow! Wow!" I think you really like your little tree. Soon we will get the big Christmas tree put up in the living room, and we can decorate it together as a family. Christmas is almost here! I love you Leon!
