Easter Eggs & Fun!

Time for sleep.

Leon,

       You had such a fun filled Easter weekend! Three easter egg hunts, a wonderful church service and lots of family fun time makes for a busy and blessed weekend. After yesterday's long day you didn't fall asleep until really late, so getting up early for church this morning was hard. You looked so handsome today in the new suit that Nana bought for you, and you had a great time at church. We came home and had lunch and then it was time for a nap to recharge. Things didn't slow down for long, because as soon as you woke up for your nap we were off to an Easter egg hunt at your Tia and Tio's house with your cousins. You filled your bucket with eggs, which you were very proud of. We then headed to Nana and Papa's house to visit and hunt for more Easter eggs! You had a blast searching the den for all the eggs, eating candy and playing with Nana and Papa. Soon you began to show signs that it was getting close to bed time, so we headed home for the night. After dinner and a warm bath you were more than ready for sleep. What a fun and exhausting weekend we had! We are a blessed family indeed! I love you Leon! Happy Easter!

A Day of Play & Fun in the Sun!

Coloring your first Easter eggs!

Leon,

       Today was a beautiful sunny spring day, with lots of play time outside, coloring Easter eggs at Nana and Papa's house and an Easter egg hunt at church! This was your first time ever coloring eggs, and it was a big fun mess! You did a very nice job and made some pretty and unique looking Easter eggs.

       It was such a fun packed day that by the time we finished the Easter egg hunt around 2:30pm you were completely worn out. When we got home you napped for almost 2 hours! Mommy and Daddy were tired too, but we enjoyed spending such a fun day together as a family. Now it is time for me to get some sleep as well, because tomorrow is Easter and will be another busy day. Sweet dreams Leon, I love you!

My Handsome Little Man

Posing For the Camera!

Leon,

       This morning Grandma came by and gave you a fun Easter bag of goodies. You loved the M&M's and Peeps, but your favorite thing was the cool markers and coloring paper. Mommy loves it too, because it is the special markers that only color on the special paper, which means less mess for Mommy to clean up!

       After your nap this afternoon we went shopping with Nana and got you a handsome outfit to wear to church on Easter Sunday. While we were shopping you practiced saying all sorts of new words. I was so impressed by how many things you said! We would say a word and you would repeat it. In the past few weeks your vocabulary has more than doubled. I am so proud of the smart little boy you are, and I can't believe how fast you are growing and learning. I love you Leon, my smart and handsome little man!

Going "Vroom!"

"Can I Drive?"

Leon,

       While trying to get your carseat into Grandma's (my Mama) truck I set you on the passenger seat and asked you to wait for me. Being the curious little boy you are you decided you would climb over to the driver seat. You sat down excitedly saying "Vroom vroom!" Thankfully you didn't figure out how to beep the horn. You looked so tiny sitting in front of the stearing wheel. It is hard to imagine that one day you will be all grown up and driving. I'm not ready for that yet. For now I will enjoy you being the young, curious little boy you are. Plenty of time for growing up! Don't grow up too fast! I love you Leon!

Sleeping Late

A Relaxing Morning

Leon,

       I try to get up each weekday morning and make your Daddy breakfast before he goes to work. This morning I got up a little after 6am and made him breakfast, but then I crawled back into bed since you were still sleeping. Snuggled up with you in the king size bed we were so comfortable that we both slept until it was nearly 9am. Slowly we got up, turned on some cartoons and I made breakfast for the both of us. We ate our toast and a fruit smoothie and enjoyed a relaxing morning together. I love mornings like these. Every once in a while it is good to sleep late and have a lazy day. I love even more that I get to spend my days (lazy or productive) with you. I love you Leon!

I Love To Hear You Laugh

Tickle Time!

Leon,

       This afternoon when you woke up from your nap you climbed out of bed and ran down the hall to the living room where I was folding laundry. You climbed up onto my lap and said "Mommy!" while giving me a big hug. I love when you wake up so happy and full of love. You just sat there looking at me smiling, so I started tickling you until you were giggling uncontrollably. Every time I would stop you would say "Again, again!" so I would tickle you some more. This went on for about 10 minutes until we were both laughing and out of breath. I love to hear you laugh and see you smile. I love how you make me laugh and smile every day. I love you Leon!

A Peaceful Nap

Sweet Dreams

Leon,

       Your nap time is usually my house cleaning time, but today I was tired and decided to relax instead. You slept for a full hour and woke up happy and ready to play. I was so happy to see you wake up in a good mood. This past week you have been waking up with night terrors a lot, especially during your naps. We are getting you back into a good daily rutine and scheduel and that seems to be helping. I think making sure you have a filling lunch before you take your nap and a filling dinner before bedtime is helping you sleep better and you don't get the night terrors. Tonight for dinner I made chicken and dumpling soup, one of your favorites, and you ate a big bowl plus some of Daddy's. You just finished a calming bubble bath, so it is time for snuggles and sleep.
