Early Morning Snuggles

Watching Cartoons

Leon,

       This morning you woke up early, which is slowly becoming the new normal. All you wanted to do was snuggle on the couch with some blankets, some milk and watch cartoons. Most days you wake up a ball of energy, but some days you just want to take it easy and have a quiet morning. After some cartoons and breakfast you were ready for the day, full of energy to run and play. I am so happy I get to spend all the quiet mornings, and the crazy ones too, with you! I love you Leon, and I love being your Mommy!

Laundry Helper

"Helping" With The Laundry

Leon,

       Today was a cleaning day, so Mommy spent the day getting caught up on chores. You decided you wanted to help with the laundry, but instead of helping fold the laundry you piled it all up and jumped in! You had more fun making a mess than cleaning, but that is your job. You always make me smile and laugh, my silly boy! I love you Leon!

Why Can't It Always Be This Easy

Nap Time

Leon,

       Today you did something you have never done before. When it came time for a nap you crawled into your bed with your simba stuffed animal and used your giant teddy bear as a pillow. You pointed at your TV, which meant you wanted to watch a movie. I put Finding Nemo on and left the room to go clean up the mess from lunch. I went back in to check on you a few minutes later and you were fast asleep! For the first time ever you actually put yourself down for a nap. I was suprised at how easily nap time came today, when just yesterday it was a battle. I smiled at how cute you looked all snuggled up with blankets and stuffed animals. You are such a sweet little boy. I love you Leon!

Nap Time at Last

Fell Asleep Eating a Snack

Leon,

       Getting up before 7am I figured you would take an early nap today, and I was wrong. After lunch I put on a movie and tried to get you to lay down for nap time. This worked for about 5 minutes, and then it was like you had a second burst of energy. You were bouncing off the walls, and the more I fought you to calm down the more riled up you got. Half an our of this went by when I finally decided to put you in your high chair to have a snack. Being confined in your chair and forced to be still you slowly calmed down. You ate your snack, drank all your milk and began nodding off. Finally you were asleep and the house was quiet. I carried you to your bed were you slept for an hour. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at your peaceful face while you slept. I am reminded again at how blessed I am to have you, my son. I love you Leon, and I love being your Mama!

Dinner at Nana and Papa's House

Spaghetti!

Leon,

       Sundays are family days. Tonight we went over to Nana and Papa's house for dinner. We had yummy spaghetti, and you loved it! You especially loved it when Nana taught you how to slurp up the noodles. You were very proud of yourself once you figured out how to do it. After dinner we played with all your toys in the toy room. You ran and laughed and played until you were tired and sweaty, so we decided to give you a bubble bath. You got a special new toy to play with in the bath, special crayons to color on the tub and walls! Nana and Papa's shower walls are now covered in your beautiful crayon murals. When your bath was finished we put on your pjs since it was just about time to go home and go to bed. You snuggled up with Papa in the recliner and instantly relaxed. We could tell it was time for sleep. We got in our car to head home, even though you wanted to stay and play. Five minutes later you were fast asleep. I think today was a very good day. Sweet dreams Leon!

My Snuggle Bug

I Love You!

Leon,

       You love snuggling with Mommy and Daddy, and you love the comfy king size bed. Every morning I get to wake up to your sweet little face. You always wake up happy and full of energy with a big smile on your face. Every day you wake up eager to play, have fun and learn something new. That makes me smile. You make me smile. I love you Leon, my happy baby boy!

Chocolate Pudding!

A Yummy Mess!

Leon,

       As a treat after lunch I gave you a cup of chocolate pudding. You took a bite and said "Yummmm!" You usually love using a spoon like a big boy, but in this case you decided it would be much more effective to use your hands! Through excited giggles and "yums" you shoved fistfuls of chocolate pudding into your mouth. Using the extra pudding on your hands you began to finger paint a mural of chocolate smears on your high chair tray as well as the nearby wall. A bath soon followed this messy activity, as well as lots of clean up for Mama. There is never a dull moment with you around, my little mess maker, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I love you Leon!
