Super Sunny Day!

Leon,

       We woke up this morning to a super sunny day! I knew we had to take advantage of the good weather and get outside to play, so we started with a walk to Nana's house! We brought Nana a yummy treat and stayed awhile to play and visit. Then, being close to nap time we walked home. I expected you to fall asleep on the way home, but you had other plans. Since you were still awake and not ready to nap we played in the yard for awhile to burn some energy.

       After lunch and a nice nap you were ready to play some more, so we ran around the yard exploring and looking at bugs and flowers. Now Daddy is home from work and the sun is still shining, so we are off for another walk. Maybe we will go to the park and play for a little while before dinner time. Today has been a blessed and beautiful day! I love you Leon!

All in a Day's Play

My Little Cutie-Pie!

Leon,
       No matter what time of day, you love to play. Lately your favorite things to play with are your mega blocks and your "vroom vrooms" (cars.) You love when we build tall towers of blocks on the floor in your room, just so you can run and crash through them, scattering them all over. You love "vrooming" all of your cars and trucks up and down the hallway. By the end of the day your room can become a complete mess, so Mommy came up with a game to help you clean up. We sit on the floor and see who can pick up more toys. Then we put all the blocks in one basket, all the cars in another, and all your little toys in your toy box. This has made clean up time a lot more productive, and you think it is a fun game! Now every morning when you get up to play you have a clean room to play in, and make a brand new mess!

Our Busy Day

Nap Time in Your Carseat

Leon,

       Our day began at 6:30am when we got up to take Daddy to work. I made breakfast sandwhiches and we quickly got in the car. After dropping Daddy off at work you and I drove down to my favorite spot in town that overlooks the ocean. There we ate our breakfast and listened to KLOVE on the radio, a great way to start our day.

       When you woke up from your afternoon nap later in the day you were really hungry and wanted a snack. Fruit is always your favorite snack, so I peeled an orange for you, which you devoured in minutes. You still wanted more so I filled a bowl with one of your favorite treats, raspberries! You love berries of all kinds and would eat them for every meal if I would let you. At least it is a healthy treat!

       Our day ended with a much needed trip to the grocery store and a yummy home cooked dinner of chicken, pasta and roasted veggies. You ate all the pasta and played with the rest of course. Now it is nearing bed time, so it is time for pajamas and snuggles. I am looking forward to a good night's sleep! I love you Leon!

Learning About Baby

A New Book

Leon,

       Your baby sister will be here in July, so for now we wait and get ready for baby. I found this book online today and decided to buy it for you. It will be here soon and we can read it together and learn about the baby that is comming soon. Right now you love to rub my tummy and talk to the baby. Tonight you said "Baby, night night?" and I told you "Yes, baby is going night night. She is sleeping and growing in Mommy's tummy right now." You smiled and hugged my belly. You are such a sweet little boy, and you will be a great big brother when your baby sister gets here! I love you Leon!

A Busy Sunday

Time For a Good Night's Sleep 

Leon,

       Sundays are usually busy days, but today was more so than usual. We went to church and enjoyed wonderful worship and a great sermon. Then we went and visited Nana for awhile until it was time for your nap. We drove around in the car until you fell asleep. By the time you were asleep it was time for us to be at a "going away lunch" for two good friends of ours who are moving away. You got a 20 minute cat nap and then woke up ready for lunch. You loved the all you can eat buffet, especially the chocolate icecream cone you got for dessert. You were a mess, but you were a happy and adorable mess.

       After lunch we came home and decided to go for a walk in the beautiful sunshine. We walked around our neighborhood and then to the church for the farwell party for our friends. When the party was over it was time for us to go to your Abuelito and Abuelita's house for dinner and a movie. You fell asleep and took a short nap while we were there, but that didn't last long. Soon you were up and ready to play and even ate some chocolate cake. After the movie it was late so we got into the car to head home. You were asleep in your car seat in no time.

       It was a long and busy day, but we had lots of fun. Tomorrow will be busy too, for Mommy, as there are lots of chores to get caught up on from this weekend. Goodnight and sweet dreams Leon, I love you!

Big Boy Haircut

Handsome Little Man

Leon,

       You have very thick and fast growing hair, so a hair cut was needed. We went to Grandma's house today so she could cut your hair. We set your high chair in the living room, put a movie on the TV and gave you a popsicle before beginning the process of giving you a haircut. We thought that since Grandma was doing your haircut you would be ok with it, but we were mistaken. You seem to be terrified of the hair clippers, and did not like it one bit. You made it through bravely and now you have a handsome big boy haircut! You look so grown up! I can't believe you will be 2 years old on April 1st! My sweet son, I am so proud of the smart, silly and loving little boy you are growing up to be. I love you so much Leon!

TGIF & Date Night

Mommy (20 weeks pregnant) ready for date night with Daddy!

Leon,
       Tonight your Daddy and I went out on a date. Grandma came over to hang out with you while Mommy and Daddy went out with a couple of friends for dinner. It is good for mommies and daddies to go out and have alone time together. We had lots of fun and ate good food. When we came home we thought you would for sure be asleep, but you proved us wrong. You were wide awake, fighting sleep because there was so much to do and play. You greeted me with a big hug, which is my favorite, and wanted to snuggle with your blanket. Now you are in bed fast asleep after fighting sleep for so long.

 Sweet dreams my hyper little boy.
