I Love You

Leon,

       You are a very opinionated little boy, from your facial expressions to your frequent use of the word "no." It amazes me how such a small little person can have a very big attitude. Most of the time you are a sweet boy, but you have moments when your true toddler attitude shines through. Lately we have been working on saying sorry when you do something to hurt someone. We tell you that you can say sorry or go to your room. Usually you will pout and slowly walk to your room, trying to get sympathy. After a few minutes of pouting in your room you will come back out and say sorry with a sad little hug. Every day you are learning. You are a sweet boy with a loving heart and I love that about you. I love you Leon!

December Is Almost Here

It's Starting To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Leon,

       As you grow up you will learn that our family loves this time of year. Thanksgiving has come and gone, and Christmas is fast approaching. I love Christmas and everything that comes with it. Being together as a family, singing Christmas songs at church, hearing Christmas music on the radio, decorating the house, and setting up the Christmas tree. This year since you are a big boy you can help Mommy and Daddy decorate the tree! We just got all the decorations out and soon we will start decorating. Last year was your first Christmas and it was very fun and special. Every Christmas we spend together as a family will be special and full of memories. I can't wait to see your face on Christmas morning as we sit by the tree and give gifts to eachother. I am so blessed and thankful to have my wonderful family. I love you Leon!

I Love My Little Boy

Leon,
       You are such a great kid. Even though you have mastered the tantrums and especially like saying "No" lately, you are a wonderful little boy. I am blessed to have you as my son. You are a sweet and loving little boy with a big heart. When you do something that makes Mommy or Daddy sad or upset, you immediately feel remorseful for what you did, and give us a big hug to say sorry. Right now is such an important time in your young life, learning what is right from what is wrong. I pray every night that I am doing everything right for you. I am your Mommy and that is my job, the best job in the world. I love you Leon!

The Sound of Laughter

And The Pitter Patter of Little Feet



Leon,

       This evening you were full of energy, so Daddy and I thought of how we could make you tired. We set up your tent in the living room and the games began! Soon we were chasing you all over the house playing peeka-boo and tickle monster. This went on until Daddy and I were exhausted. Then it was time for your bubble bath and bedtime.

       I love the sound of your energetic laughter and the pitter patter of your little feet as you run up and down the hall way. I love watching Daddy chase you around the house as you giggle and play. I love your happy smiles and your big hugs. I love how you bring me your blanket and say "My Mama" when you want to snuggle. I love that we are your Mama and Dada. I love you Leon!

Nap Time With You

Leon,

       This afternoon around 2 o-clock you started to get really tired and a little cranky, so we layed down for a nap. After reading the same book to you three times you started to fall asleep. I realized just how tired I was too, so I closed my eyes. You fell asleep with your little head on my shoulder. I treasure those moments I have with you. We drifted off to sleep and didn't wake up until 4 o-clock this evening. I guess we both really needed that nap. I love you Leon, my little Snuggle Bug!

A Beautiful Fall Day

Playing In The Leaves

 

Leon,

       Today was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, and even though it was chilly, it was a perfect day to go for a walk. I bundled you up in your stroller with a warm blanket and we walked to Nana and Papa's house. While we were there you decided to help Papa rake up all the leaves in the grass. You had a lot of fun stomping through the piles of leaves smiling and laughing. When it was time to head home, and also your nap time, you did not want to leave. You were having way too much fun playing, but Mama could tell you were getting tired. As soon as we got home and layed down for nap time, you fell asleep and took a well earned nap. It was a beautiful and chilly fall day today, and I am so happy I got to spend it with you little man. I love you Leon!

Playdough Fun

Leon,

       Today was a slow day as Mommy is still feeling very tired and nauseous. You got bored after playing with all your toys and eating lunch, so I thought we would try playing with playdough again. This time you knew not to eat it and you had so much fun squishing it! I taught you how to roll the playdough into a ball, which you thought was amazing since "Ball" is your favorite and most used word.

 

       When 1 o-clock came around you started to get cranky and manic. I knew this meant it was time for a nap, so I layed down with you on my bed and we read a book. Then I said it is time to go to sleep and take a nap. Your response to that was "No, no, no!" I wrapped you up in a warm soft blanket and said "Yes, it is quiet time and time to take a nap. It is time to sleep. I love you." You closed your eyes, still muttering "no...no..." and then you fell asleep. We snuggled together for a while since Mommy was really tired too. Naps are a wonderful thing. I love you Leon, my sweet little boy.

You Make Me Smile

My Silly Son

Leon,

       My sweet silly little boy, you make me smile. Even on days when I feel sick, you always find a way to make me smile. This evening after you had your bath and got your pajamas on we sat down on the couch to snuggle. You picked up my cell phone and put it to your ear and said "Hello?" and began to have a conversation with yourself using the various words you know. You looked so serious with the phone up to your ear, talking on and on about something that must have been very important. Then you said "Mama?" and handed the phone to me, apparently it was my turn to talk. I smiled and gave you a big hug and kiss. Thank you for being my sweet silly boy. I love you Leon!

Big Brother!

Leon,

       Today is Thanksgiving, and what better day to share wonderful news. Mommy and Daddy have some big news! You are a big brother! We are expecting a new little baby in July! We are so excited to see our little family grow and we know you will be a great big brother. You had such a fun time today visiting with all our family for Thanksgiving. I loved the reactions we got when they saw your shirt I made for you. That is what is truely important in life; family and the love we have for eachother. I am so blessed and thankful for everything God has given us. I love my family! I love you Leon!

       I say it every day, but I just can't say it enough, I love you! I love your sweet little face, the way you make pouty faces when you don't get your way, the way you smile and make my heart melt. I love our little conversations and the way you make up your own words. I love your excitement for new things and how adventerous you are becoming. I love how much you love your family and how much your family loves you. Of all the things I love, I love that I am your Mommy and you are my son. Jury Duty

I Love You Sweetpea!

Leon,

       Today Mommy had to report for Jury Duty so you spent the morning at home sleeping in with Daddy. I got up really early and headed to the court house to do my civic duty. I wasn't picked to serve on the jury for that trial, so I got to come home early at 11am. We spent the afternoon watching a movie and took a nice nap since we were both tired. I love our quiet time together, it is precious and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love you Sweetpea and I am so thankful for everyday I get to spend with you!

A Blustery Day

A Warm Blanket & Hot Cocoa

Leon,
       A storm hit the coast last night with high winds and gusts up to 90mph. The wind continued to rip through town all day today and the rain was pouring, so we stayed indoors. When it came time for your nap I made you a cozy little blanket nest on the couch and gave you a sippy cup of hot cocoa. We watched a movie and snuggled for the better part of the late afternoon. There is no better way to spend a stormy day than snuggling with you, my Snuggle Bug. I love you Leon!

My Little Man

Fun With Mega Blocks!

Leon,

       My handsome little man, you grow smarter every day! Today you had fun building with your Mega Blocks with Daddy. You took your block building very seriously. You are becoming more and more independent, you didn't even want Mommy to help. The tower you built was very tall and impressive, until you decided it was even more fun to destroy it.

       Tonight a storm hit. The wind and rain are roaring outside the house, making the windows shake. On nights like these I am so thankful for the little house we have, safe and warm. It is late now, so it is time to snuggle and read a bed time story. Good night and sweet dreams! I love you Leon!

Rainy Day With Mama

It Was a Blue's Clues Kind of Day

Leon,

       Rain, rain go away, please come back some other day! It was a super rainy and cold day, so you and I stayed inside where it was warm and dry. Our day started out with a little Blue's Clues and hanging out in our PJs. After breakfast we decided it was art time, so we got out your Jumbo Crayons and your animal coloring book. While you sat in your highchair and colored some beautiful artwork for our refrigerator door, Mommy attempted to color her hair in the kitchen! I put some brown hair dye in my hair and went about cleaning the house while I let the color take to my hair. I rinsed it out and asked you what you thought and you replied with "Wow!" You are such a sweet heart!

       Later we had story time where I let you pick out some books from your book shelf for me to read to you. Your favorite thing to do lately is to take the book and open it up and start "reading" the story to me! You point to all the pictures while babbling and making up words with a very serious look on your face. I love your enthusiasm for reading books, and I love how adorable you look while trying! I love you Leon!

A Day Of Rest

Little Baby Feet!

Leon,
       Yesterday was a long day with your surgery, so today we had a day of rest. We snuggled and watched a movie, folded laundry and relaxed. Today was a good day. You made me laugh this evening when you did something very cute. You stubbed your toe and started crying, and when I asked if you wanted Mommy to kiss it and make it better you lifted up your foot and said yes! I kissed your little baby feet and you smiled giggling. Every day you make me smile. I love you Leon!

My Brave Boy

Ready To Go

Leon,

       Today was a long and eventful day. Our day started at about 6am when we checked into the hospital for your surgery. The procedure to get tubes put in your ears was so quick, but it was still hard for Mommy to let the doctor take you from me. You were so brave and everything went smoothly. I am so proud you of Leon! I am so thankful everything went well and we are now home resting. Goodnight Sweetpea and sweet dreams. I love you Leon!

Your First Surgery

Sleepy Car Ride

Leon,

       Tonight we are out of town staying at a hotel, because tomorrow we will get up really early to take you to the hospital. You are having your first surgery. You are having tubes put in your ears because they aren't draining properly. Hopefully these tubes will keep you from getting any more ear infections. The procedure will be a quick one, and I know you will be safe and taken care of. Mommy and Daddy will be praying for you the whole time. Tonight we will get some good sleep. Right now you are taking a bubble bath, laughing and playing, and splashing water all over Daddy. You are such a silly boy and that is one of the things we love about you most. We love you Leon!

Raspberries

Lunch Time!

Leon,

       Today was a quiet day at home, getting caught up on chores and relaxing. We accomplished a lot today, inbetween play times and a nice nap. You helped me clean up and organize your room as well as fold your laundry. You are a great little helper! Later you worked on your coloring book while Mommy washed dishes and cleaned the kitchen. For lunch you had a grilled cheese and ham sandwhich, grapes and raspberries. You loved the raspberries the most and even asked for more after you finished lunch. Today was a good day. "Thank you God for blessing our family so much, and especially for blessing me, as a Mama, with such a wonderful little boy." Leon, you are the best son a Mama could ask for. I love you!

Leon Loves...

Ketchup!

Leon,
       We recently discovered that you, like many children, love ketchup! If I put ketchup on your food you will usually eat it, or you will just eat the ketchup. You would probably eat ketchup for every meal if I let you, but man cannot live off ketchup alone! There are lots of nutrition and yummy foods to eat, and not all of them need to be dipped in ketchup, you silly boy.
       You have been great with your words lately, learning new words and trying really hard to say new things. You know Mama, Dada, Papa and Nana and even said Gama (Grandma) today, but lately you are calling everyone Mama! You kept calling both Daddy and I "Mama" today, and you did it while smiling and giggling, so I think you are doing it on purpose. I love that you are starting to speak more, and I love the little "conversations" we have during the day. You are such a sweet boy. I can't wait to hear you say "I love you" for the first time. I love you Leon! :)

Garage Sale Day

Time For Sleep

       Today we held a huge garage sale at our church as a fundraiser for two families we know who are fighting cancer. I was amazed at how many people came, bought stuff and donated to the cause. It is so wonderful when a community comes together to help out in times of need. You had a lot of fun at the garage sale, playing with all the toys and showing off for all the different people. Mommy even found a cute pair of boots! It was a fun day, but now we are both tired and ready for a good nights sleep. We have to be up early for church tomorrow, so it is time to snuggle and read a bedtime story. Sweet dreams my sweet little man. I love you Leon!

Healthy Boy

       When given the choice between crakers, cookies, or fruit you almost always choose the fruit. You love fruit, lately apples are your favorite, and as I sit here writing you are eating an orange. Your love for the healthier foods makes me so happy! Now if only I could get you to be this enthusiastic about eating your veggies. A Long & Good Day

Mama Loves You Leon!



Leon,

       Today your Daddy and I took on the daunting tast of cleaning out the garage. I confess that we are not the most organized people in the world, so tackling the garage was scary. We had let a little mess turn into a big mess. You did so well while we cleaned and loaded up the truck, that we borrowed from you Papa, with all the garbage to take to the dump. You sat in your highchair and ate your snacks and cheered us on as we worked to get the garage cleaned up. We took two loads to the dump, including our old broken couch. When we got a new used set of furniture for our living room this summer we stuck the old couch in the garage, knowing that it would need to be taken to the dump. I guess the kitties thought it would be a good place to go potty, so we had an even bigger mess to clean up...eww! After a couple hours we finished getting all the trash out of the garage and to the dump, but there is still a lot to be done, and that will be for another day. Today was a long, but fun day, and we accomplished a lot. Now it is time for sleep. Sweet dreams Leon, Mama loves you!

Learning New Words

My Smart Boy!

Leon,

       All of a sudden you can say all these new words! Today you said "shoe", "pease" (please), and "yes" for the first time! I am so proud of you Leon! Daddy and I have also been working on counting with you a lot. This evening I found you standing on the couch "counting" "1,2,3" and then jumping! You are such a smart boy and you are taking in everything around you right now. I love and enjoy teaching you every day, it is time well spent. I love watching you grow and learn, but don't grow up too fast! I am very proud of you, my smart little man. I love you Leon!

Today You Got...

4 New Teeth!

Leon,

       Today was a long day, and now I realize why. Today you cut four new teeth! Your poor little mouth was not happy today, and now I understand why you wouldn't eat your lunch. Thankfully your teeth had cut through by this evening, and with a little Tylenol you were feeling much better and able to eat dinner. Even when you don't feel good you are such a sweet boy. You always make your Mama smile, and you give the best hugs in the world. I love you Leon! Sweet dreams little man!

Pajama Day

Daylight Savings Time 

Leon,

       We live in one of the few states that still participates in day light savings time. It was originally done as a way to provide people, mostly farmers, with more day light to get their work done. Now this tradition does only one thing, it throws off the sleep scheduel of children everywhere. Last night you fell asleep at 8pm, which is great, since we have been trying to get your bedtime to 8pm for a while now. You are used to sleeping until about 9am, but today you woke up at 6:30am. You seemed very confused being up that early, and all you wanted to do was snuggle with Mama. After breakfast you fell asleep again at 9:30am and took a quick cat nap. Needless to say you ended up taking a late nap later today, so who knows how late you will be up tonight. Thank you day light savings for always keeping us parents on our toes. With some luck maybe you will go to bed at 8pm again, but I think that is just your Mama's wishful thinking.

Sunday Fun

Ready For Church!

Leon,

       At church today it was Mommy's turn to help in the nursery, so you and I got to hang out with your Auntie and all the little kids. You were the youngest kid in there, because it is the three year old nursery, but you played very well with the big kids and had a lot of fun. You even joined in at craft time and made your first craft, with Mommy's help of course. We made a picture of a turkey with your finger prints since Thanksgiving is this month. This craft involved paint, so it was a bit messy, but I think you did very well. You are such a good boy and I am so blessed to be your Mama! I love you my little artist!

Kick It

Soccer Baby!

Leon,

       Today we took you to the field to play soccer, and run out all your energy, with your Abuelito and Daddy. I did not anticipate how muddy the field was and you were covered in mud by the time we got home. You had fun anyway, kicking the ball up and down the field and stomping in the muddiest parts of the grass. After about an hour of play we walked back home and you took a warm, and much needed, bubble bath. Once you were all clean we snuggled up for nap time. It has been a good day. I love you my sweet son!

Bedtime Stories and Sing Alongs

       Tonight Daddy and I snuggled up with you at bedtime to read a book. Then we turned out the lights and said goodnight, and you replied with "night night". You love it when we sing to you, especially "If You're Happy And You Know It". You love to clap your hands while we sing it to you. Being your parents is the best job in the world and we love you so much. We get so excited and proud of you with each new thing you learn and do. Today you said a simple sentence, "My ball." and I felt so proud! You are the sweetest and smartest boy in the world and I love being your Mommy. I love you Leon!

Caught Red Handed

Uh-Oh!

Leon,

       Ok, I admit giving you the markers for coloring time was not a good decision on my part, but you wanted to color and I couldn't find the crayons. Thank God I gave you the washable markers. I guess this is what I get for thinking you would coloring quietly while I washed the dishes in the kitchen. I looked up from scrubbing a pan and said "Leon, what did you do?!" and you gave me the most innocent look using your cuteness as a defense. Let's just say the markers have been put away until further notice, and I ended up buying a pack of jumbo crayons. Next time you are coloring it will not be within arms reach of the walls. I have learned my lessson. Even when you do mischievious things, I love you with all my heart Leon. It's a good thing you are so cute! I love you Sweetpea!
