Booger Bear

My Sweet Baby Boy

Today, at about 1am you woke up with a cough and congestion. You came and crawled into Mommy and Daddy's bed to snuggle. I gave you some tylenol and you went back to sleep. Waking up you seemed to be feeling a little better, so off to church we went. I love taking you into the sanctuary during worship. You made me smile today when you raised your hand and starting "singing" with me.

You took a nap this evening from 7pm to 8pm, and now you are wide awake and manic. Mommy is very tired, and starting to feel sick too, so we are going to snuggle and watch a movie. I have a feeling it will be a long night. Sweet dreams my little Booger Bear, Mommy and Daddy love you!

Cleaning Day & A Visit With Friends

Mommy's Vacuum & Leon's Vacuum

Today we devoted a few hours to some serious house cleaning. I will be honest, there are a lot of days where I let the household chores slide, so days like today happen and I get all caught up. You made me laugh today while you followed me around with your little vacuum while I vacuumed the house! You were very thorough in getting all of the living room clean. It makes me smile to see you taking an interest in helping Mommy with chores. I hope you are just as interested in helping as you get older. We got all the chores done, and had fun while we did them!

After our chores were done and Daddy got home from work we got ready to go visit some good friends! It was a birthday party for our friend Adrian, who has the same birthday as Daddy. It was great to talk and visit with friends, and eat some yummy food too! You had so much fun playing and showing off the whole time, that as soon as we started driving home you fell asleep. Now you are tucked in bed for the night. Sweet dreams my sweet baby boy. I love you Leon! :)

On Days Like Today...

Your Snuggly Hugs Make Me Smile.

What a long day today was. It was one of those days where things keep going wrong. At one point today I was feeling so tired and frustrated, and I just wanted to go to sleep so it could be a new day. Then, as if you knew I needed it, you came up to me and gave me a big hug, and we just sat on the couch and snuggled for a while. You make me smile and warm my heart, even when I am having a bad day. Thank you for being my little blessing. I love you with all my heart sweet pea! :)

Blackberry Picking

Blackberries Are Yummy!

Blue skies, a slight breeze and a comfortable 70 degrees out at Olalla Lake this afternoon. It felt like summer today, the perfect day for blackberry picking and a picnic! Unfortunately we miss calculated blackberry season so most of the berries were wiped out already, but at least we got enough for you to snack on. You loved the blackberries so much that they were almost all gone before we left! What a mess you made, but it was a fun day with good memories. Daddy tried to teach you how to skip a rock across the lake. It was cute to see you throwing rocks into the lake with such determination. We had a yummy picnic with sandwhiches, chips and Grandma's homemade peanut butter cookies for dessert!

We all had a fun and exhausting day today. I am so very blessed by you each day Leon. I love you with all of my heart! :)

Nap Time

Afternoon Nap

There is a time each day that Mommy always looks forward to. A short period of time when the house is quiet, and that time is nap time for you. Today I was really tired because I stayed up really late with my friend while we colored eachother's hair! When it came time for your nap I layed down with you too. We both fell asleep and took a nice long nap. I woke up to find you had decided to drape yourself across my back and sleep. You looked so cute and silly, I wish I could have taken a picture! Moments like these are memories I will treasure for the rest of my life. I love you my little Snuggle-Bug and you fill my heart with so much happiness.

Water Baby

Bath Time For Leon!

Ever since you were about 2 weeks old you have loved taking a bath. You would relax instantly as an infant when I would lay you in the warm water. Now as a toddler you have discovered the fun bubbles and splashing. Let's just say I mop the bathroom floor quite often now. You love bath time and showers. You would stay in the bath tub all day if I would let you! Since you seem to love the water so much, I am thinking about starting swimming lessons for you next spring or summer. Last night you said "bubble" for the first time! Just one more word added to your ever growing vocabulary. Mommy is so proud of the smart little boy you are! I love you Leon! :)

#1 Job: Being Your Mommy!

Today we had another great day together. You helped me run errands, pay bills and make dinner too! Being a Stay-At-Home-Mom is the best job in the world. Being home with you each day makes it possible for me to take care of you, teach you new things, watch you learn and grow, all while taking care of all the household chores. Although being a Stay-At-Home-Mommy is the best job in the world, it doesn't bring in an income. That is why I decide to start my own business and work from home! I found a business I could run from home doing something I believe in, and helping people change their lives! I love that I can do all this while still getting to be your at home Mama, because being with you makes me smile and makes life complete. I love you Leon, with all my heart! :)

Bubbles!

My Cool Lil' Dude!

Today you once again made me smile! We went to church this morning and you went to play in the nursery while I sang with the praise team. You did so well in the nursery, and you didn't even cry this time! I was so proud of you Leon! After church we went over to your Nana and Papa's house to hang out in the beautiful afternoon sunshine. You helped Nana wash her car and played basketball with Papa, while mommy layed on the deck in the sun. Nana brought out the bubbles and you got really excited! You even blew your first bubble today! You also licked the bubble wand, discovering that it does not taste good. You live and learn! Thank you for making me smile little man. Mommy loves you with all her heart! :)

Fall Equinox

Summer Is Over,

Fall Is Here!

 

September 22nd marks this years beginning of fall, and inevitably the end of summer. This summer flew by so fast, and I am a little bummed it is over already. The long sunny days are turning into shorter, colder and cloudier days, but not all is lost. Even though we had a warm and fun summer, there are lots of things to look forward to for this fall and winter as well! First will be Halloween, where you will get to dress up and go trick-or-treating (that means you will get some candy!) Then in November all the family will get together for Thanksgiving (lots of yummy food!) In December we look forward to Christmas, and that day is very special. On Christmas we will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, God's Son, who came to free us from sin. Finally on January 1st we will welcome in the New Year. Every season has something to look forward to, and with each season we grow and change for the better. I look forward to spending each season of life with you, my son, watching you learn and grow into the wonderful person God has made you to be. I love you with all my heart Leon!

A New Toy!

Let the fun begin!

Today your Grandma brought over a new toy for you...your very first tent! It is a Cars tent, and although you have yet to see the movie, you love your new tent! I think your favorite part is crawling through the tunel, and playing peekaboo from the inside. After about an hour of play and excitement, and a visit from Nana, you enjoyed a yummy PB&J sandwhich and some milk for lunch. Followed by some snuggle time, and a short nap. :)

At the moment you are sitting quietly in your room "reading" your books. This past month you have been very interested in books. So reading time with you has become very fun. At bedtime we have started reading "My Very First Bible", that was given to me when I was born. You love all the colorful pictures, and you make me read over and over. Your enthusiasm for books makes me smile, because reading is one of my favorite passtimes. You can't go wrong with a good book and a great imagination! I love you baby boy!

Mommy's Day Off

Mommy's Day Off



Spending everyday with you, my son, is a joy and a blessing. I love helping you learn and watching you grow and discover new things. Each and every day with you is a treasure, and I would not trade them for the world! You may not notice, but being a mommy is a lot of work, and sometimes I am exhausted at the end of the day. So today your Nana took me out to have a "mommy day", while you stayed home with Daddy. We got pedicures, had lunch, went shopping, and relaxed. I feel rejuvinated and pampered, it was wonderful! The best part was coming home and getting a big hug and kiss from you.



It looks like you and Daddy had fun today! Now we need to work on teaching you how to clean up your room! It seems we all had a pretty good day, now it is time for bed. Good night and sweet dreams Snuggle-Bug. Mama loves you Leon! :)

Mommy's Little Helper

Apparently spatulas, measuring cups and spoons are much more fun than all the toys you have in your room. Today you learned that you can pull out the drawer where I keep all the measuring cups, whisks, spatulas and other baking tools. I left that drawer unlocked just for you, because I know how much you like to "help" in the kitchen.

When I am cleaning the house, you always want to help. So I gave you a clean rag, and you began "cleaning" the floor while I was scrubbing the counter tops and the stove in the kitchen. Your willingness to help and the look of accomplishment on your face were adorable. You are a great little helper, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you my sweet little boy! :)

A Good Day For PJs

Happy Silly Boy

With Fall moving in and Summer on it's way out the temperature outside has really gone down. I took a look outside and said to myself, "It is a good day for PJs and hot coco!" So I put on my fuzzy socks, made a hot pot of coffee, and started on breakfast. I made you some cinnamon toast and sliced peaches and a sippy cup of luke warm hot coco, and you ate it all! After breakfast we snuggled and watched cartoons for a short while, but you were too full of energy and you wanted to get up and play. So I put on some silly music, and we danced in the living room. I love being a stay at home mom. The memories we make everyday are priceless. I love you my silly little snuggle-bug! You make my heart smile. :)

Everyday is an adventure with you, little Leon. I love the way you light up with joy and excitment when you discover something new. You recently discovered how to turn on the shower. What a fun mess that was, but oh well, I needed to mop anyway. There isn't a day that goes by that you don't make me smile. You brighten up my day, and you have brightened my life forever. I love you with all my heart!

Sunday Afternoon

An Afternoon At The Playground

 

Your daddy and I took you to the new playground at the elementry school today. It was your first time ever playing on the slide and the swings, and you loved it! We had a lot of fun playing and running around the playground, but you sure were tired afterwards. I love to see you laugh and play everyday, it brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face. I love you Leon! :)

Beautiful Day

Playing Outside with Mommy

 

Today we sat in our little front yard outside the house and played in the grass. It was such a beautiful blue sky day. You love picking the dandelions and giving them to me. Watching you play and explore is one of my favorite things to do. Seeing you try to blow on a dandelion was hilarious and adorable, and seeing the accomplished look on your face when you finally did it made me feel so proud of you. I love you Leon! :)

 

 



 



Baking With a Toddler

Baking with a toddler...

Baking with a toddler under foot is not the easiest task to take on, but that is what we did today. Some of my fondest memories growing up were the times I would help my mom in the kitchen. We would cook and bake all sorts of yummy treats. My hand in "helping" usually consisted of licking the spoon, and taste testing the desserts. I still love being in my kitchen, baking and cooking for my family. :)



Your job today Leon was to taste test the chocolate chips before I put them into the cookie dough. You liked this job very much. I could tell because you kept doing the sign language for "more" and "please" until I gave you more chocolate chips. I later came to regret giving you so many when the sugar high hit you. I know now the true meaning of "bouncing off the walls." In the end we made a pretty yummy batch of cookies! You are such a good little helper Leon, even when you make a big mess! And even though we will have many messes to clean up throughout the years, it will be worth the memories we will make together. I love you with all my heart, my messy little boy! :)

 

A Sunny Day In September

Today is sunny and warm, a rare day in September for our coastal town. We went for a walk and as you rode happily in your stroller you smiled and waved at anyone who passed us. I loved seeing the expression on people's faces change as you waved your little hand at them and smiled your sweet smile. Frowns turned into smiles, and a silent passing by turned into a happy "hello!" You spread joy and light where ever you go. I am so blessed to be your mommy. I love you Leon! :)

I Love You

I have created this blog as a way to document the love I have for my son. I will write a new post each day, as if writing to him. Some posts may be as simple as one sentence, others may be as long as an essay, but either way I will write everyday. Everyday he does something to make me smile and warms my heart. I want to write all those things here on this blog, so that one day he can look back and see just how much he means to me. I love this little guy with all my heart!
